Corned Beef and Cabbage Anyone?
First, a belated Happy St. Patrick's Day, to all of my Irish loving frriends and family! Since St. Patty's day was this past weekend, it appears that many people were searching for "Corned Beef and Cabbage," presumably for recipes. Of course, our dimunuitive friends the leprechauns got their fare share of searches too. Given this expected trend, I decided it would be interesting to see which areas in the United States seemed more Irish loving than others. Connecticut, Massachussetts, and New Jersey citizens were most likely to be dining on corned beef and cabbage, based on searches. Utah, Nevada, and Pennsylvania residents were on the lookout for leprechauns, proabably to get rich quick with a pot of gold. Finally, Texans and Californians were the only Americans that seemed to care about chugging down some green beer, which was most curious to me. Perhaps the novelty has worn off, and regular beer will suffice. But wait....perhaps I should search Guiness. Yes, there it is Massachusetts on top by far, followed by California, New York, Illinois, and Texas. I declare Massachussetts to be the most Irish loving place in America. No suprise there...Boston Celtics, anyone?
